Intellectual Property Policy
The Journal of Neurosurgery Academy recognizes and respects the intellectual property rights of authors, reviewers, editors, and third parties.
1. Author Ownership
- Authors retain ownership of the intellectual content of their work.
- Submission to the journal implies that authors have the right to publish all content included in the manuscript.
2. Originality and Third-Party Rights
- Authors must ensure that submitted manuscripts are original and do not infringe the intellectual property rights of others.
- Any copyrighted material from other sources must be accompanied by appropriate permissions and acknowledgments where required.
3. Confidentiality of Unpublished Material
- Editors and reviewers must not use, disclose, copy, or exploit unpublished information obtained through the peer review process for personal, professional, or commercial advantage.
4. Protection of Reviewer and Editorial Contributions
- Reviewer reports and editorial communications are treated as confidential intellectual contributions and may not be shared beyond the editorial process.
5. Allegations of Intellectual Property Misuse
- The journal will investigate allegations of plagiarism, unauthorized use of copyrighted material, or other intellectual property violations in accordance with established publication ethics procedures and COPE guidelines.
6. Corrections and Retractions
- Where intellectual property violations are confirmed, the journal may issue corrections, expressions of concern, retractions, or other appropriate actions.
Intellectual Property Rights for Video and Multimedia Content
Authors submitting video content must ensure that they own the intellectual property rights or have obtained all necessary permissions for publication and distribution.
Any identifiable copyrighted material included in multimedia submissions must be appropriately licensed and acknowledged. Authors are responsible for securing written permissions where required.
The journal reserves the right to reject, remove, or request modification of multimedia content that may infringe intellectual property rights or violate applicable laws.
Editors, reviewers, and journal staff must not use, reproduce, distribute, or exploit unpublished multimedia content submitted to the journal for personal, professional, or commercial purposes.
Published multimedia content will be distributed under the same licensing terms as the associated article.
