An exploratory study on workers attitudes and job satisfaction in relation to work dynamics in construction firms in Mangaluru

Abstract
Human resources are the most valuable asset of any organization. They represent the sum total of inherent abilities, acquired knowledge, and skills reflected in the talents and aptitudes of managerial and non-managerial employees. It may be noted that human resources should be utilized to the maximum possible extent in order to achieve both individual and organizational goals. The study aims to identify workers’ attitudes and job satisfaction in construction firms in Mangaluru City. Research data were collected from 145 workers who are employed on construction projects in Mangaluru City. The research results show that the factors that positively affect workers’ attitudes and job satisfaction include working conditions, work environment, nature of work, and compensation. Finally, the study proposes several administrative implications to improve the job satisfaction of construction workers in Mangaluru City.
